Since Germany passed its cannabis law in 2024, Berlin has become the capital of Europe's cannabis business, and ICBC is its go-to industry conference. In 2026 it brought together more than 7,500 professionals from over 80 countries, according to the organizers. The 2027 show is the tenth in the city and returns to the Estrel. If you work in the industry, here's what you need to know.

What is ICBC?

The International Cannabis Business Conference (ICBC) is a B2B cannabis trade show and conference. It was founded by Alex Rogers: the first ICBC took place in 2014, and the first in Europe, in Berlin, in 2017. It has since held events in the United States, Canada, Spain, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and Germany, but Berlin is its flagship show.

The April 2024 edition coincided with German legalization taking effect. According to Cannatech Today, it drew about 5,000 participants and some 350 exhibitors and sponsors. For 2026, the organizers reported more than 7,500 participants, 500 exhibitors and sponsors, more than 300 German medical cannabis pharmacies and more than 200 social clubs. They also say more than 80% of their partners come back every year.

The legal landscape in Germany

Since April 1, 2024, adults in Germany can carry up to 25 g (just under 1 oz) of dried cannabis in public, keep 50 g (about 1.8 oz) at home and grow up to three plants. Licensed cultivation clubs can produce for their members, but commercial sales are still not allowed. That is why ICBC revolves around three audiences: medical cannabis in pharmacies, social clubs, and the international industry supplying the German market.
