Laboratory or animals. This label summarises the type of data; it is neither a recommendation to use nor a safety rating.
How we read studies and personal accounts ↗Identity
CBE, cannabielsoin, is associated with CBD oxidation.
Terms associated with this entry: cannabielsoin.
A formulation can change too
A study detected CBE during storage of an experimental CBD liquid; it did not assess aerosol or respiratory harm.
A metabolite: specify in which organism
In 1988, CBE formation from CBD was documented in guinea pigs and liver preparations from that species. This should not be presented as direct evidence of human metabolism.
Two cellular pathways did not give the same response
In 2024, S-CBE showed CB1 agonism in a cAMP assay, without detectable agonism in the β-arrestin assay across the tested range. This experimental selectivity does not establish safety or subjective effects.
Here, “biased” describes a difference between signalling readouts, not poorly conducted research. Interpreting the result requires identifying which signal was measured. Reducing everything to “activates CB1” removes the very detail that made the comparison interesting.
What has been studied
Cellular activity does not constitute demonstrated therapeutic efficacy.
Risks and gaps
The liquid study does not assess inhalation safety.
Documented forms
| Analysed experimental liquid | An identified degradation product, not a tested treatment. |
|---|
A molecule and a product are different things. Read about flowers, resins, oils, creams, capsules and vaping.
Experiences
We have not included a verifiable individual account in this review. We do not fill that gap with commercial stories or invented experiences.
Conclusion
CBE shows why composition, stability and pharmacology each need their own evidence. A conclusion reached in one of those boxes does not automatically fill the others.
Legal context
Read the Spain note and official sources. Absence from a cited list does not establish that a product is lawful.
